The headset browser is the easiest starting point
For supported sites, browser playback requires no file transfer and leaves less local content behind. Use the VR control in the player and verify that projection is set to VR180 or the format named by the provider.
A dedicated player offers more control
Dedicated players can expose projection, stereo layout, zoom, tilt, playback speed, passthrough and local-network options. These controls help when a file has incomplete metadata or when you want consistent high-bitrate playback.
What a good player should support
Look for HEVC and modern codec decoding, side-by-side and top-bottom stereo, 180 and 360 projection, local files, network shares and privacy-friendly history settings.
Troubleshooting a distorted image
A doubled image usually means the stereo layout is wrong. A stretched scene often means projection is wrong. Reset zoom and tilt, confirm 180 versus 360, then select side-by-side or top-bottom according to the file description.
